My mom taught me to crochet when I was 7. I've picked up the hook off and on ever since. Though my recent adventure has been baby beanies and hats, my crochet roots are in making blankets. But it is difficult to feel accomplished when making blankets because they take so long to work up. I've made a few afghans in the past; one for myself, my sister, a friends baby.
Well, this past week while at the craft store I spotted the most beautiful yarn. It's Bernat Baby Coordinates Yarn in Lemon Lime. Green, yellow, and a soft white mixed with a silver thread throughout. It's just beautiful! As soon I I saw it I just knew it would be a baby blanket, and just what pattern to use. So here I go again, the long process of making a baby blanket.
Imagine my surprise when I realized how quickly this has been coming together. Not even a full week into the project and it s almost done. I posted a photo at Facebook.com/DavieraeCrochet and two people already want one. That was quick!
I am very happy with this project. I cannot wait to post the final photo.

Pinterest Ideas are Awesome!
I have had the best time scrolling through Pinterest finding cute crochet ideas. Today i stumbled onto a board just full of Harry Potter crochet ideas. I just had to repin so many of them. I would love to share with you my favorite ideas for Davierae Crochet. Follow my board to get some ideas.
Would you like to see some of the items I have personally made? You can find them on Pinterest, as well!
This is just one of my favorites (because you really don't need just one favorite), and of course I got this ideas off of Pinterest.
This Yoda baby beanie is one of the most liked hats on my FaceBook page. It's just too cute! Plus the model is just adorable.
Keep an eye out for more great ideas. Feel free to share them here!

Having a Yard Sale!
We decided to have a yard sale and make room for more crochet goodness! I think the planning phase is almost done, and I am ready to clear out stuff.
I am hope that since we are selling some great end tables, book cases, a full size bed with sheets and bedding, a small TV, and even some ceiling fans will draw over the USF crowd.
We posted our sale on this cool website: Find garage sales in tampa on yardsalesearch.com
I think I will also put out signs early in the week to get people excited. What do you do to prepare for a yard sale? Any tips or tricks?
I think I should have a little setup on the side table showing some cool Davierae Crochet stuff! Plus I could put out a box of coffee cup cozies and see how well they sell. Here is a photo of my favorite cozies:

The Pleasure of Giving
Frog Beanie for newborn to 3 months modeled by Isaac Hogsett |
With this in mind I created Davierae Crochet. For years I have made little gift for friends. Slowly they began to ask, "Can you make a beanie for my newborn grandchild? I will pay you." I began looking on line at others who sell hand made gifts and I thought it is such a lovely idea. What sets Davierae Crochet apart from so many other sites is that I do not keep an inventory. You can tell me the item you like, a size, and color palette. I will make the item special for you or your loved one.
Feel free to check out the photos of gifts I've made in the past on my Facebook page Davierae Crochet. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
